Lowell Barden, VP/GM
Lowell Barden is co-founder of National Erosion Control, Inc., and has served as Vice-President and General Manager since its inception in 2001. Prior to National Erosion Control, Lowell was the Sales Manager for the Erosion Control Division of Fife Industrial Pipe Co. in Brandon, FL. He went to work for Fife in October 1992 after having spent spent twenty years as a member of the U.S. Army and subsequently retired from the Army in 1992. Lowell played an integral part in establishing the erosion control division at Fife as one of the leading erosion control installation companies in the southeast. Lowell was instrumental in Fife and National Erosion Control becoming the largest installers of fabric formed concrete throughout the state. Along with his business partners, Lowell has developed National Erosion Control into a company that is known for its quality of work and products alike. Lowell, his wife Gina, and their son Logan, live in Lakeland, Florida.
Rick Golden, Operations Manager
Rick Golden is co-founder of National Erosion Control, Inc., and has been an officer in the company since its inception in January 2001. Prior to National Erosion Control, Inc., Rick was part owner and plant manager of Fife Industrial Pipe Co. in Mulberry, Fl. Rick worked for Fife starting in October 1980 after having spent eight years in the U. S. Army. Rick was hired by Fife to oversee plant operations. At the time, Fife was a distributor for Phillips Driscopipe and was the industry leader in pipe fabrication and fittings for the entire United States. Rick worked at Fife until his semi-retirement in October 1998. In late 1999, Rick went to work in setting up the ground work for what was to become National Erosion Control, Inc. On January 1, 2001, Rick became the Vice President of Operations for National Erosion Control, Inc and has been an integral of the sales and management team ever since. Rick lives in Lakeland, Florida, with his wife Linda. They have three daughters and six grandchildren.
Chris Shell, Lead Superintendent
Chris Shell has been with National Erosion Control, Inc., since its inception in January 2001. Prior to working at NEC, Chris worked at Fife Industrial Pipe in the Erosion Control department. Chris has been the lead crew chief for the instllation of fabric formed concrete for NEC for the past eight years. He has been responsible for the installation of approximately 1,000,000 square feet of various types of fabric formed concrete. Chris has worked with numerous general contractors on many Florida D.O.T. projects, the various agencies associated with the Florida Water Management Districts, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the Army Corps of Engineers. Chris has also been associated with many different aspects of erosion control on various types of projects that include impermeable pond liners, staked silt fence, floating and staked turbidity barriers and turf reinforcement mats. Chris lives in Mulberry, Florida, with his wife Sally and their two children.
